Radford University’s FAMIS Outreach Project was successful in enrolling close to 100% of it’s service area’s eligible uninsured children in state sponsored health coverage (FAMIS and Children’s Medicaid). As of December 1, 2006, the program will no longer be available to assist families with the enrollment process. However, families may continue to apply for FAMIS and FAMIS Plus (Children’s Medicaid), Pregnancy Medicaid, FAMIS MOMS and FAMIS Select by:

1)      Contacting the local Department of Social Services (DSS) and requesting an application

2)      Calling the FAMIS Central Processing Unit (CPU) 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday – Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. – noon at 1-866-873-2647.

3)      Applying on line at famis.org

If you currently have FAMIS, you can also contact the CPU for questions regarding renewal and ongoing eligibility.

If you have Medicaid or Medallion, you can contact your local Eligibility Worker at your local DSS if you have questions about your case.

If you have Virginia Premier as a Managed Care Organization (MCO) and you need assistance finding a provider or have questions regarding services covered or referrals call 1-888-338-4579.
