After earning her MSW degree, Debora Schneller worked as a
direct practitioner in social work for 25-years, including
10-years in the New River Valley, and 10-years in Israel,
working with both Arab and Israeli populations. Her
professional experience includes senior positions as
clinical director, field director, and supervisor of
students and staff. She held positions in public mental
health, child counseling centers, therapeutic schools,
university counseling services, and private practice. She
is currently an active community member in the New River
Valley, volunteering with the Mental Health Association and
the Community Development Team. She teaches undergraduate
and graduate students in the HBSE and Practice sequences,
as well as conducting the MSW integrative seminar. Her
publications and research interests focus on adult
development through the later years, and innovative
pedagogy in social work. She draws on her rich practice
background and current research to create a stimulating
learning environment for her students.
