Thank you for considering Radford University as a place to
further your education in Social Work. Radford University
is located in the beautiful mountainous area of Southwest
Virginia and provides a wealth of recreational
opportunities as well as a strong community of students and
social service professionals. The community strongly
supports our programs and our Professional Advisory Council
to the school consists of community leaders throughout this
region. In addition to the town of Radford we are
surrounded by Blacksburg, Christiansburg and the historic
mountain community of Floyd and we are less than an hour’s
drive from Roanoke, VA. We offer programs and classes in
both Abingdon and Roanoke VA.
Radford University is a CSWE accredited School of Social
Work and grants both BSW and MSW Degrees. We are one of the
largest Schools of Social Work in the state of Virginia. We
pride ourselves on working with students to help them
achieve their educational goals. Our programs are
innovative and stress quality and sound principles of
practice. The School of Social Work focuses on community
based family practice; we prepare students to work with
individuals, families, groups, communities and
organizations in a variety of ways. Our objective is to
facilitate student learning and to work with students as
they develop the knowledge and skills necessary for
professional social work practice.
We are proud of our students and faculty members who come
from diverse backgrounds and who strive to always be
outstanding members of the social work community. Our
curriculum is sound and will provide you will the
foundation to achieve personal goals and develop personal
strengths. We are also committed to serving our community
